Mission

To Awaken and Gather Evangelists
To Fulfill Their Calling in God!

The International Evangelist Fellowship is on mission to awaken evangelists and gather them into evangelist fellowships across America.

Sad but true, most people who are called by God as evangelists are asleep to this divine calling. Our job is to awaken them.

Awake sleeper and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.

Ephesians 5:14

Once the evangelist realizes his calling in God, it is essential that he gathers with other evangelists. The day of the “Lone Ranger” evangelist needs to end. According to Hebrews 10, the church must
gather regularly to encourage one another. This is equally true for evangelists. We need one another.

Let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds,

not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some,

but encouraging one another, and all the more as

you see the day (of Judgment) drawing near.

Hebrews 10: 24, 25

The task assigned by God to evangelists is not an easy one. It is an assignment most church people do not want to do or even think about. Because it is a difficult task, it is essential that evangelists gather to be encouraged in God on a regular basis. Otherwise, the devil sneaks into our thinking, discourages us, alters our behaviors and we stop the very task assigned to us by God, to reach the lost at any cost.

Once evangelists are awakened and gathered, the Holy Spirit moves in a dramatic way and evangelists begin to fulfill their calling in God so they will hear the Lord say on the judgment day, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Evangelist Fellowships exist:

1. To provide a unique and needed place of fellowship for those called by God as evangelists.

The evangelist is a different person in many ways than is the local church pastor.  The evangelist is different by calling, gifting, job assignment, and usually temperament.  This fellowship ministers to those differences, while fully respecting and honoring our brothers in the other offices mentioned in Ephesians 4.

Make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love,

united in spirit, intent on one purpose.

-Philippians 2:2

2. To support evangelists in every city in America.

Jesus said, “The harvest is great but the workers are few.”  Therefore, anyone who attempts to do the “work of an evangelist” will have our encouragement and respect.  We will help strengthen the evangelists!

Therefore, strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble,

and make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame

may not be put out of joint, rather be healed.

-Hebrews 12:12-13

3. To awaken others to answer the call of God as evangelists.

Many people in our local churches are called by God as Ephesians 4 evangelists.  Some are aware of this calling, but many have not yet been awakened to see themselves as evangelists.  We want to aid them in finding their God-appointed niche of service which will, in turn, strengthen the local churches and extend the kingdom of God.

Awake sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.
-Ephesians 5:14

And He gave some as . . . evangelists,

. . .for the equipping of the saints for the work of service,

to the building up of the body of Christ;

-Ephesians 4:11 – 12

4. To provide relational accountability for the temptations and risks of those involved in evangelism.

Through small-group interaction, prayer, teaching and friendship, we intend to minimize the tragedy of moral or ministry failure in the lives of the evangelists across America.  We will care for the evangelists.

Let a man regard us in this manner, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

In this case, moreover, it is required of stewards that one be found trustworthy.

-First Corinthians 4:1-2

5. To yoke together with local churches.

We believe in the local church and in church-based evangelism efforts that begin with the evangelist attending a local church and supporting the local church pastor.  We encourage evangelists to work in conjunction with local churches and to direct all new converts into meaningful local church participation.

So, the churches were being strengthened in the faith, and were increasing in number daily.

-Acts 16:5

6. To stimulate the development of evangelistic ministries in local churches.

Oft times, the evangelism efforts of many churches never get off the ground. For those pastors and churches with a desire to more effectively take their church members into the harvest fields, we provide resources, training, organizational skills and encouragement.

And they went out and preached everywhere,

while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the word by the signs that followed.

-Mark 16:20
